“Much to our joy, we managed to buy a Chelmer cottage at auction in May 2021. We really liked the location and the neighbourhood and the jungle around the substantial block.  We wanted to involve a local architect to help us manage the process to renovate and design the rearrangement of  the spaces.  I contacted Grace immediately at Arkspace Architects to get a feel for the budget.  We wanted to make it three bedroom with two bathrooms from the existing 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom character cottage.

Grace worked very patiently with us to recreate spaces in the existing footprint. We went ahead to get prices to get the kitchen started as it would be a rate determining step in the staging of the renovation and she worked with us in this to ensure we get certified. She was very responsive to our suggestions and provided sound advice on the various possibilities.   We have a limited budget and Grace was very helpful in suggesting what we could do to meet our budget.  We’ve had to adjust our expectations but all our non negotiable as will be delivered. Also we needed to get it done quickly so we could host our daughter and family when they return to Australia next year with twins and granddaughter. Her design, contact with professionals and technical details have been spot on. We can take those plans forward with confidence. We want to be actively involved in the building process so she’s been able to assist us in that too.
